This 3-day course is designed to introduce developers to the basic
concepts of the SQR programming language, including sections, paragraphs,
and variables. Course participants will learn to select data from
the database, add procedural logic, and generate tabular reports
with the SQR programming language. Emphasis is placed on report
layouts, including headers and footers, group breaks, detail sections,
and screen and command line input/output.
In this class, students will learn:
- Building queries, report generation, and formatting with
emphasis placed on fonts, layouts, table of contents and HTML.
- Product architecture and the relationship to SQR server.
- Advanced SQL concepts including joins and where clause customization.
- Creation of multiple reports with only one pass through the
database, look up tables and arrays to decrease required processing
time.
- Creating mailing labels, exports and cross-tabs
- Adding procedural logic.
- Programming strategies.

Content viewers, developers and administrators who want to:
- Speed processing of their SQR reports.
- Generate HTML output from reports.
- Customize reports with fonts, graphics, and custom layouts.
- Create of queries and reports without the GUI tool.
- Perform data analysis without the GUI tool.
- Utilize the Job Manager and Administration modules as well
the Intelligence iServer.
Prerequisites:
- Familiarity with Windows standard conventions.
- Understanding of relational database concepts.
- Knowledge if at least one other programming language required.
- Experience with 3GL languages and SQL will be helpful.
